Ollabelle
Ollabelle, named after the influential Appalachian songwriter Ola Belle Reed, draws from a deep well of gospel, blues, bluegrass, and country influences to create timelessly resonant music that honors the integrity of its sources while remaining contemporary. The group includes Amy Helm, the daughter of legendary band drummer and vocalist Levon Helm, on vocals and mandola, Fiona McBain on vocals and guitar, Byron Isaacs on vocals, bass, and dobro, Tony Leone on vocals and drums, and Glenn Patscha on vocals, keyboards, and accordian. They have been featured on NPRs All Things Considered, were chosen to be part of the national Great High Mountain Tour featuring Alison Krauss and Ralph Stanley, and have produced two critically acclaimed albums- one (Ollabelle) with the legendary T-Bone Burnett and the second (Riverside Battle Songs) with former Bob Dylan sideman Larry Campbell. Sit back and be transported to the churches, front porches, cotton fields and honkytonks of the American South.
